Bruce Beste, owner Cabins on Crane, reported on Saturday afternoon that Kathy and Michelle caught 12 walleyes while Ken and Cody caught a perch. The competition with these Walleye Women became so intense that Cody began to refuse to net any more of Michelle’s fish. (first photo is of Michelle with two walleye). Jigs or spinners with a leech worked best.
While staying at Pine Point Lodge, Resort and Motel, Mike along with his brother Mark, both from Indiana, had an interesting catch. While fishing with his crappie rod and 4 lb test line, Mike hooked up on a huge 36" northern pike pictured below.
They also worked the shoreline for other pike catching three 14" walleyes in the process.
Tubes worked best for bass during the day and then top water in the early mornings and evenings. Fishing along the cat tails produced this huge 19" small mouth bass yesterday.
