Jim Janssen, owner Voyagaire Lodge & Houseboats reported that their guests did well fishing for walleyes at depths of 8-12’. Minnows and leeches did the best with lindy’s.
Bruce Beste, owner of Cabins on Crane, reported that Mike and Mike caught 39” and 38” northern pike on Saturday and Sunday in the Swanson Bay area of Sand Point Lake. One party had nice mix of crappie and walleye caught in Crane Lake using jigs and minnows on Saturday and Sunday. Northwest Bay produced several nice 16” to 17” Walleyes on jigs and minnows (with some releases of larger walleye).
Jim, a guest at Pine Point Lodge, Resort & Motel released a huge 14 1/2" crappie. He caught it on a minnow & bobber 5' from shore in 3' of water. Arturo, a 13 year old, also staying at Pine Point Lodge, Resort and Motel released a 31" northern caught on a blue and gold thunder crank bait on May 27th. Another member in their group, Jeff, while fishing for northern pike, had a 40" plus Muskie almost to the boat, it was HUGE! 'So close we saw a big scar on the top of its back, dang, but it got away!' Well, a day later, they hooked up with the beast and were able to measure it and release it, 43". Crane Lake's top water small mouth bass fishing lit up on top water this week will the majority of them in the 17 -20" range on . Largemouth bass were very active with soft plastics being the bait of choice in shallow water.
