Glaciers sculpted masterpiece after masterpiece in the chain of lakes in our area. Crane Lake is just the beginning!
The area is abundant with white and pink granite with large veins of white quartz running through. Evergreens meet crystal blue waters and the sunrises and sunsets present photographic backdrops. From breathtaking overlooks at Vermilion Gorge, Vermillion Falls and Grassy Bay Cliffs you can see some of the oldest geological formations in the nation.
Grassy Bay Cliffs on the west end of Sand Point Lake present massive shear cliffs. The waters are deep enough to guide your boat up close for an impressive view. During the winter season, groomed snowmobile trails pass this impressive area.
A quick excursion to Namakan Narrows offers a close up view of pictographs (ancient Indian paintings) permanently etched into the jagged rocks.
If you can take your eyes off the scenery, challenge yourself to an unforgettable fishing trip. Make use of portages, guides, charter/tow boats, and excursions to wilderness lakes.
Crane Lake is the southern entrance to Voyageurs National Park and only 10 minutes by boat. Take a look at the beautiful scenery in the Crane Lake Area in our Photo Gallery.
