    Jim Janssen, owner of Voyagaire Lodge & Houseboats reported fair catch for walleyes this week. The crappie bite has turned on as well as strong northern action. While vacationing at Pine Point Lodge, Resort and Motel, Tom, from Dayton, MN had his best luck using drop shots in 15'.  He caught this 22.5" walleye using a night crawler.     Maddy, a guests staying at Cabins on Cranel, from River Falls, WI caught this beautiful crappie on Crane Lake. Her party also caught several walleye fishing with guide Russ and enjoyed an excellent shore Lunch at My Island. Other guests from Cabins on Crane, John and Amy from Thief River Falls, reported excellent pike and bass fishing.     Crane Lake fishing continues to have a good variety of catches this week.  Most fishermen are using jigs or lindy rigs tipped with worms in up to 24' deep.  Others are casting the shorelines using crank baits.     Bruce Beste, owner of Cabins on Crane, reported Greg and John fished in Loon Lake yesterday afternoon and caught 6 very nice walleyes. They were fishing 9 to 13 feet water using jig and leech and hook and minnow with a slip sinker.     Jim Janssen, owner of Voyagaire Lodge and Houseboats reported good action actually in the shallows on the edge of weed beds. While staying at Pine Point Lodge, Resort and Motel, Aaron, from Elmhurst, IL was reported as the best dad ever!     While staying at Pine Point Lodge, Resort & Motel, this past week, fishing with a wacky worm, Kelsey caught and released this giant 20" largemouth bass. I am not sure who was more excited, dad or Kelsey? All I heard was that Dad was scrambling for the net.     Pine Point lodge, Resort & Motel talked to their long time guest Gene aka Geno.  He said on Sunday, he and his group had a really, really good day of bass fishing.  Several in the 16" to 19+ range which were all released.     Mark W, a guest at Pine Point Lodge, Resort & Motel, stated his fishing experience was fantastic.  The best depth of water for large mouths has been less than 3ft.  He caught a 4 pounder in 65 degree water temperature on May 23rd using a gold jerk bait.   Finding the warm water seems to be the trick.  For small mouth bass, Marc S, from Pine Point reported he has been catching several bass in the 18 - 20" range on swim baits tight to the rocky, wind blown shorelines.  Walleyes…

    At 20-25 foot depths, good Walleyes are being caught that fit in the slot of 15 - 17 inches. A few larger fish that are in the protected slot are being caught and released.
